Welcome to the Old Star

Jon and Anna welcome you to the Old Star, where we serve the highest quality beer and cider along with an excellent selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks.

Most of the beers we serve are sourced from breweries located within Sussex, with the ciders and perries coming from producers throughout the UK. We also sell a range of Sussex gins and most of our soft drinks and tonics are provided by Folkington’s of Sussex. We stock a growing range of bottled and canned stouts and porters, again mostly from local breweries, as well as a couple of bottled lagers.

The Old Star is situated just off Shoreham High Street and is easily accessible by bus or train.

COVID-19 Update

Since legislation and regulations regarding how we are able to operate are frequently changing, please see our Facebook posts or call us on 07999 915242 to find out whether we are currently open for drink-in or takeaway and what our opening hours are.

Hi folks,

We've had a few people asking how different things are going to be in the Old Star from Monday 19th, so here's a copy of the information we're sharing with our customers in the pub.

______________________________________________

We hope the following changes to how we run the pub after the easing of restrictions will enable you, our staff and us to feel safe and comfortable, whilst allowing the pub to function a little more as it used to.

- Please come to the bar to order, pay for and collect your drinks.

- Please choose yourself somewhere to sit or stand as we will no longer be taking bookings (other than for larger groups).

- We will trial making one table available for large group bookings. This can be booked by groups with a minimum of 5 people, for a minimum stay of 1.5 hours. This booking needs to be made in advance (no later than pub opening time on the day of your visit, please).

- We have reduced the number of seats at the bar in order to avoid congestion and now have a few areas at the bar where we ask you not to sit or stand (an area for customers to order from when the pub is busy and a staff area).

- Takeaway will continue to operate as normal - please feel free to come into the pub to place your order or give us a wave and we will serve you at the door.

- We are no longer required to ask you to wear a face covering whilst moving about the pub or to collect customer contact details (but will leave the QR code available for those who wish to check in).

We will regularly review our systems and chat with our customers to see how things are working for you, and then make changes as necessary.

Once again, many, many thanks for your continued custom and support, Anna and Jon
